Here is another Idea for Ombre Nails: Purple and Gold Chrome Gradient.
I love Chrome Nails. Love!
Or I should say I am obsessed. And I am not the only one. My clients still also cannot get enough.
Mirror Chrome and Metallic Manicures have become so popular. They are requested more than Glitter Ombre Nails lately.
I can’t even believe I am saying that! Because I got so many clients addicted to Nails with Glitter.
But chrome nail looks have been taking a center stage.
And Nail Designs with Chrome Powders are still trending all-over social media.
So I think Chrome Nail Art is here to stay for years to come.
How can it not? There are so many options and ideas out there.
Flashy or elegant. Simple or loud. Depending on your or your client’s preference.
But those loose chrome pigments could get a little messy to work with.
Yes, they are like magic and when you spill them, it is devastating. For me anyway. Every bit is like liquid gold.
So, when I saw these Pressed Chrome Powders, I had to try them:
With these, there is no mess or waste. Love that! And colors in this palette are so versatile. So I couldn’t wait to use it.
This Purple and Gold Chrome Ombre is the first manicure that I did once I got these beautiful pressed chromes. And it went viral.
All my clients wanted to copy it. I kept on getting texts on how may compliments everyone was getting anywhere they went.
This manicure is beautiful, stylish and elegant.
And neutral enough to compliment any outfit. It looks beautiful for all seasons. Best part? It is fairly quick and easy to do in the salon with very little extra time.
These can be everyday nails or nails for special occasion. I will recommend this look to my clients for their:
- Nails for Graduation or Graduation Party
I hope you try it! Or get inspired to create your own version.

HOW-TO INSTRUCTIONS:
After completing your nail prep, apply Gel Base Coat. Then cure for the required time.
This is the Gel Base Coat I used:
Apply your favorite No Wipe Gel Top Coat. Then cure for the required time.
This is the top coat I used:
Tip: Check to make sure there is no bumps or fuzzies. Because they will really show once you apply the chrome. If any, buff off and repeat Step 2.
Tip: If using same top coat as I used:
Cure for 10 seconds only. Then wipe the nail surface with rubbing alcohol. Proceed to Step 3.
Dip just the tip of a disposable eyeshadow applicator into the purple chrome. It is the 4th color from the left.
Press the chrome into the nail starting at the tip. Then work your way up to the middle of the nail. Do that by lightly swirling and then padding the applicator moving up the nail.
It will create the fade effect. If needed, repeat util you applied enough pigment.
Tip: Powder is not sticking? Wipe the nail surface off with rubbing alcohol before applying it.
Dip just the tip of a disposable eyeshadow applicator into the gold chrome. It is the 3rd color from the left.
Press the chrome into the nail starting at the cuticle. Then work your way toward the purple blending the 2 colors together. If needed repeat util you applied enough pigment.
Tip: For more intense coverage repeat Step 2 through 6.
Using a soft brush, brush off access chrome from the nail surface.
Apply 1 coat of Builder Gel. Be sure to cap free edges. Then cure for the required time.
This is the Builder Gel I used:
Tip: This step is optional, but it will help prevent chrome from chipping.
Apply your favorite Gel Top Coat. Be sure to cap free edges. Then cure for the required time.
This is the Gel Top Coat I used:
Wipe off the access pigment from skin, especially around the cuticle and sidewalls with rubbing alcohol. It will help check for coverage.
Tip: Have any spots where the chrome didn’t stick?
Wipe the surface of the nail well with rubbing alcohol first. Let dry. Then apply 1 more coat of your No Wipe top coat. Cure. Apply more chrome with disposable applicator to fill in the missing spots. And seal with another coat of top coat. Cure.
Enjoy the finished look! And all the compliments!
